Maya Mizutani: T:155 cm / B:84cm / W:57cm / H:85cm / Age: 23
Kana Yamamoto: T:154 cm / B:75cm / W:58cm / H:82cm / Age: 23
With both competitors tied up, the next round is the determining factor. The round that determines who will raise their arm in victory or wallow on the canvas in defeat. The final bout is for “all the marbles,” using a hackneyed, cliche expression. Will Maya make a comeback, or Kana keep the pressure on, sealing the fate of the match? Place your bets, buckle up, and let’s cover the 決着 (end) of the first installment of Kitty Pro.
The match begins with Kana not wasting any time, taking down her opponent swiftly and without effort.
Maya puts up little resistance as she gets flipped over into a Boston crab.
Kana immediately demands a submission, as she backpedals while maintaining the hold, creating a higher angle of discomfort.
With more trash talk, Kana keeps on the pressure, while Maya tries to grasp the canvas for dear life.
It appears essential to the cameraman that we get a closeup of the action (LOL!).
Wanting to end the struggle, Maya grabs onto one of the lower ropes, causing Kana to break the hold.
Maya took some damage here, as she takes some time to recover.
Kana steps back as Maya climbs to her feet.
A moment passes as both competitors stare each other down before locking up again.
Maya and Kana push against each other in an attempt to gain dominance. Back and forth, they battle for position to retake the momentum in the match. Who will take charge?
Maya fights back, catching Kana in a standing headlock.
Kana is reeling from the technique as she tries to break free. Maya is looking to capitalize on the momentum shift, tugging at the neck of her adversary.
It seems as though Maya is looking to take Kana down to the mat as she continues to lock in the submission. Multiple camera angles showcase the action, as both grunt and groan in exertion.
In an instant, Maya switches her technique, sinking her arm under Kana. What is happening here?
Maya executes a snap mare, causing Kana to do a front flip onto the canvas.
Going for the surefire technique, Maya sets up another neck scissors.
This hold makes an appearance for the third time.
Kana gets her neck crushed underneath the force of the move, whimpering in hopelessness.
Will she be able to kick out?
Maya maintains dominance, keeping her back close to the ring floor.
Things were looking to get out of hand, but Kana flips her rival over, managing to slip out of the scissors.
Dragging Maya to the center of the ring, it’s looking like Kana will execute a similar move she pulled earlier in the contest.
She grabs Maya’s legs…but this time doesn’t sit on her back.
Tucking her feet under Maya, Kana flips her opponent over, sinking the sharp knee bones into sensitive back muscles.
A new technique debuts - the bow and arrow lock!
Maya is shocked, as she is losing stamina from the crushing hold.
Kana cranks her knees up and down, applying more pressure on the spine. This looks like it really hurts.
Even though Maya’s feet are touching the ground, it still doesn’t take away the force of the submission. It is incredible how quickly AKIBACOM trained these competitors to execute complicated wrestling moves.
Maya is struggling, fighting the urge to tap. Kana is continuing to put on the heat, hoisting her knees higher into the back of Maya.
“Sorosoro give up suru ja nai no? - Isn’t it about time you give up?” Kana responds, as if she’s certain of victory.
I couldn’t hear the next part very well, but it sounded like “watashi wa kachi ni - I’m going to win.”
Kana has the same confidence as from the first match. Kana tells Maya to give up, which is met with another statement of defiance. How much punishment can Maya take?
Kana lets go of the hold, much to the delight of Maya. However, Kana is not done with her assault, lifting her groggy opponent from the canvas.
In one smooth motion, Kana executes another cobra twist.
“Give up!”
“No!”
Both girls trade responses, not looking to taste defeat.
Still, Maya is in pain, as the submission takes its toll on her already weakened state. It seems as if Maya has nothing left.
Just as Kana was about to secure another victory, Maya reverses the move!
Sinking a few elbow shots into Kana’s thigh, Maya takes advantage of the surprise attack, sweeping behind her opponent.
Now Maya is in control! Did Kana honestly expect this?
Kana takes damage from the cobra twist, the same move she was applying moments before. In a delirium of anguish, Kana cries out in desperation.
Maya is not interested in any form of mercy, applying the hold with more vigor.
Maya talks trash to Kana, asking how it feels having her own move used against her. In an attempt to show bravery, Kana denies that it has any effect but is stunned by the technique.
Kana is gasping for breath as Maya continues to work. Maya tells Kana to submit, but the girl in white is not interested. With both competitors tied neck-and-neck, who will take this match?
“Yoku ganbatta ne - You’ve done well,” Maya replies as she releases the hold.
Still keeping grip of Kana, Maya shoves her head between her legs.
“Watashi no hissatsu waza kaketa ageru wa - I’ll give you my special move!” Maya pushes down on Kana’s back while pulling her arm up as far as it can go.
With her other elbow, Maya drives the sharp point of her joint into the spine of Kana. Her special move is a modified 卍固め (manjigatame) or grapevine hold. The whimpers of Kana turn into cries of agony as the submission stretches every fiber of her being.
Maya remains laser-focused, sticking to each part of the hold. The cameraman gets another closeup of Kana selling the move. She is in a bad situation! Some more taunts from Maya, not looking to relent whatsoever.
“Anata ga bara bara na natta omou ne - I think you’re falling apart,” Maya exclaims, exerting more energy to maintain the hold. Kana continues to take the brunt of the move.
“Watashi no make…gibu appu - I lose, I give up!”
She tried to resist the submission, but Kana eventually taps to the special move, determining the winner of the match.
She lays on the mat motionless, completely crushed and defeated. With a sound strategy, Maya did not expend too much energy throughout the contest, keeping her special technique hidden until the end.
The match concludes with post-fight interviews about how Maya never gave up and continued to battle. Standing upright, she beams in victory, looking forward to her next challenge.
Kana remains on the canvas floor, lamenting how she used her special techniques too early in the match. Oh well, it is a learning curve, and she’ll be better prepared for next time.
Overall, it is a great battle. The directors at KITTY delivered a solid product showcasing an assortment of moves and techniques that keeps onlookers at the edge of their seats. The simplicity of the costumes and submissions leaves with the idea that the fundamentals set the stage for everything else. It is an older work, but you get to see the origins of Pro-Style and how they have transitioned (and improved) their quality over the years. Those looking to see cute competitors battle it out in various submissions, this is a product you cannot miss.
